1 Corinthians Commentaries - Your Recommendations?

I am going to be preaching through 1st Corinthians soon and I am collecting useful commentaries. What would you recommend?

I already have MacArthur, Bruce, Morgan, Morris, Barclay, Ellsworth, Mare, Kistemaker, and Hodge.

I am planning on getting Blomberg, Fee, and Barrett.

What do you recommend? Which commentaries have you found most helpful for this epistle?

IMO Fee is the far and away best. I would also want to consult Garland and Thiselton. Some of the very bst stuff is D A Carson's paper back books which are really sermons on sections of 1 Cor- The Cross and Christian Ministry (ch1-4) and Showing the Spirit (Ch 12-14).
Since time is always limited I would say you can easily set aside Barclay, Morgan, Mare and Bruce. I would not even worry with Morris, Hodge of MacArthur unless I happened to have extra tiem one week.

Thanks a million, Doc! I ordered Fee's commentary today. I'll have to rely on friends like you to tell me what Garland and Thiselton said since together those works would set me back about $100.

I already have Carson's two paperbacks. Thanks for the time-saving tips, as extra time is less than a rarity these days! :-)

The trick with Baker books (e.g., Garland)is to check their website for damaged books. "damaged" usually means very slight damage (like missing the dustjacket) and you can get 50% off or more.
For Eerdmans (e.g., Thiselton) you can call their store in Grand Rapids and ask if they have damaged copies. The number is on their website. Here again you can find great deals if they happen to have such copies.
